Hey Mama started with something very simple.
When our founder Jessica became a mum, she quickly realised just how much of motherhood happens quietly. The broken nights, the constant thinking ahead, the small wins, the difficult days and the thousand little things that nobody really sees.
Like most mums, she didn't need a medal for any of it. But sometimes it would have been nice for somebody to simply say, we see what you're doing.
That thought stayed with us. And in time we realised it even has a name - Matrescence. Meaning the physical and emotional, psychological and social transition a woman goes through when becoming a mother. A period of huge change, growth and self discovery.
In simple terms - becoming a mum changes more than you expect. Not just your days, but you too. The beautiful Hey mama charms we have developed are a reminder of that journey. Of everything you’re learning, carrying and becoming along the way.
The idea
We celebrate new babies brilliantly. Cards arrive, presents arrive and everyone quite rightly makes a fuss.
But somewhere amongst all that, mum can get a little lost.
Hey Mama was created to recognise her too.
